About Us

The Oak Tree Foundation is a non-profit (501(c)(3)) organization formed in 2007 to provide a financial safety net for Claremont Country Club’s employees, independent contractors and their immediate families. The Oak Tree Foundation is a separate entity from Claremont Country Club and donations are separate from the Employee Holiday Fund and the Caddy Fund. Oak Tree Foundation grants are awarded on an individual basis depending on need.  Funding for the foundation is provided by voluntary and direct donations from club members, other individuals or entities, and “Give Back” events.

History

The Oak Tree Foundation evolved from the Claremont Country Club’s Memorial Tree Program through which members would donate funds to plant trees on the golf course in memory of deceased members. In 2006, the Memorial Tree Program was discontinued and it was decided to create a program where the donations went instead to assist the Claremont Club employees.

In 2007, The CCC Foundation, dba The Oak Tree Foundation, was established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization separate from Claremont Country Club. This new organization was seeded with a generous gift from one of the Claremont Club members. Pro bono legal services were provided by another member who was joined by several other Club members to create the first Board of Directors of the OTF.

Mission

The Oak Tree Foundation provides a financial safety net for Claremont Country Club employees, independent contractors, and their families “who may incur unexpected expenses such as unreimbursed medical emergencies, uninsured and unanticipated casualty losses, new births, and educational or otherwise special needs as may be identified by the directors and to carry on other charitable activities associated with this goal as allowed by law.”
